The mission of the Virginia Hobbs Charitable Trust is to provide meaningful support primarily is the areas of medical research and treatment, children’s initiatives, cultural endeavors and animal welfare.

Our Vision

The vision of the Virginia Hobbs Charitable Trust is to improve the lives of both people and animals through the support of established 501(c)(3) and 170(c)(2) organizations primarily located in the North Texas region.

Robert and Virginia Hobbs

Robert and Virginia Hobbs, longtime residents of Fort Worth, Texas were known for their generous spirit and support of many philanthropic causes.

After the death of Robert Hobbs, Virginia founded the Virginia Hobbs Charitable Trust in 2004. It was Virginia’s desire that their legacy of generosity continue. Virginia was active in directing the Trust until her death in 2014.

Today, members of her family and close friends serve on the Grant Committee for the Virginia Hobbs Charitable Trust helping to insure Virginia’s and Bob’s philanthropy will live on.

The Virginia Hobbs Charitable Trust is based in Fort Worth, Texas and primarily supports medical research and treatment, children’s initiatives, animal welfare and cultural endeavors.

Grant Guidelines

The Virginia Hobbs Charitable Trust grant application process is by invitation only. Please contact us if you feel your organization aligns with our Vision & Mission Statements.

For those organizations who are invited to apply we request the following:

  1. Briefly describe the general purpose of the grant request.
  2. The amount requested.
  3. 501(c)(3) determination letter.
  4. Latest summary sheet of IRS Form 990
  5. List of current Directors/Trustees.

Giving Year

July 1st – June 30th

Grant Deadlines

We prefer that grant requests be submitted by May 15th.

Eligibility Requirements

Grant applications are made by invitation of the Virginia Hobbs Charitable Trust to tax-exempt organizations described in Section 501(c)(3) and Section 170(c)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Our primary areas of funding are medical research and treatment, children’s initiatives, animal welfare and cultural endeavors in the North Texas area.

Grant Reporting

As part of the grant approval between the Virginia Hobbs Charitable Trust and our partners, the Trust requests grantees to submit a follow-up report upon conclusion of the grant period noting how awarded funds were spent.
